HCC President, Robert James Cimasi testifies before Alaska Legislature regarding Certificate of Need (CON September 2007
In a Joint Meeting Held by Alaska House of Representatives & Alaska Senate in Juneau, AK on September 18, 2007, HCC President, Robert James Cimasi gave testimony in favor of two (2) bills that would limit the types of facilities subject to CON. He explained how research indicates that CON has failed as a public health policy in that it reduces competition and creates access barriers in healthcare.
