 New Jersey Cardiologists Settle in Anti-Kickback Case
In the ongoing campaign against illegal kickback arrangements, the DOJ and the OIG recently entered into settlement agreements with three cardiologists employed by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, who were allegedly paid salaries for positions they didn't fulfill in violation of the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute.

OIG Announces its FY 2010 Work Plan
The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) released its work plan for the 2010 fiscal year on October 1, 2009, which includes reviews of and proposed changes to Medicare (Parts A, B, C, and D), Medicaid, and an additional section on the programs and efforts related to American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Changes to Exempt Organizations Safe Harbor not Offered in

In a recent markup of the Senate Finance Committee�s America's Healthy Future Act, Senator Charles Grassley declined to put to vote two previously planned amendments that would have affected tax-exempt hospitals and other exempt organizations.
